Easter 2020
Dear Friends in Christ;
What a spectacular day for me yesterday. I chose to walk towards the East mountains to watch the sunrise and God didn't let me down. What was ironic is that I forgot to put my sole inserts into my boots and I had a couple nails digging into my feet as I walked. But it was the walk back that took me by surprise.
Sitting crouched over at a bus stop was a young man of 34 named Martin. I stopped and made conversation with him and invited him up for green Chile bison stew, to which he accepted. To my complete and utter horror, he revealed to me that he had been accosted and robbed by 5 Native Americans on Good Friday.
I've seen a lot of carnage, but none like this. He has a fractured ulnar and sprained ankle along with multiple cuts and a bruise spanning his entire left thigh.
He was a victim of random violence. And is also a victim of alcoholism that I've never witnessed. God certainly puts challenges in front of us and I am not about to let one of His creatures suffer.
So, my schedule has been modified.
All I can say is, if everyone pulled someone out of their wreckage and bathed and fed and clothed them, what a difference the world would be. So let it begin with me.
